Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader met while studying Metalsmithing and Sculpture at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. The duo quickly bonded over their paralleled backgrounds working in the fields of prosthetic dentistry and orthodontics. These after-school jobs romanced their preoccupation with strange medical oddities, and began their fascination with small metals parts and meticulous detail.

While earning their bachelor's degrees, Jill and Sabine executed conceptual sculptures, installations, functional objects and machines made completely from handmade parts. Eventually, both girls became drawn to creating dark, conceptual, statement-making jewelry that is suitable for everyday wear, which has now come to define Lady Grey. The designers currently work out of their metals and jewelry studio in Brooklyn, New York, where each piece is handmade by Jill and Sabine.

Lady Grey won Gen Art's 2009 Design Vision Award in Accessories
